IPL 2024 PBKS vs GT Highlights: After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Punjab Kings got off to a strong start thanks to an opening partnership of 52 runs from captain Sam Curran and batsman Prabhsimran Singh. But after that, the Gujarat Titans’ spinners choked their hitters till they were out of the game. They were first taken aback by the powerplay between Noor Ahmad and Rashid Khan, an Afghan duo, before Sai Kishore took over. The Indian spinner finished with 4/33 as the Punjab Kings were dismissed for 142 runs in 20 overs.
The Titans had not anticipated the hunt to be as simple as it was. With 42 runs needed off 30 balls, Rahul Tewatia’s (36 not out off 16) pressure-relieving cameo helped the Titans win comfortably in 19.1 overs. While Punjab Kings suffered their sixth defeat in eight games, Gujarat Titans recorded their fourth victory in eight games. After making some solid runs at the start of the order, Shubman Gill (35 off 29) was caught off guard by an ill-timed aerial blow off Livingstone. Sai Sudharsan (31 off 33) also struggled with stroke making, and Livingstone’s second casualty was the dangerous David Miller.In the middle overs, Punjab Kings were able to exert pressure, but Tewatia quickly neutralized their threat with a barrage of six boundaries.
